Mechanical Design Engineer, Gr. Leader: 100kW Wind Turbine

Job Description You will lead a project for a 100kW vertical axis Magnus-type wind turbine by managing and promoting the project planning and progress tracking starting from the conceptual design stage.

【 Specifics. 】
・Inspection of wind turbine components design drawings
・Planning tests for wind turbine components
・Meetings with manufacturers, etc.
・Project planning and progress management (including cost and resource management)
※On-site support and domestic and international business trips are required.
Required Skills ・Experience in project management from specification study to mechanism and chassis design, prototyping, evaluation, and mass production launching
・Experience in designing large machinery (especially rotating mechanisms)
・Japanese business level or higher
Preferred Qualifications ・Knowledge of standards related to wind power generators
・Experience in design, testing, and evaluation of mechanical/industrial equipments (e.g., plant equipment, production lines, conveyor systems)
・Knowledge of structural design including drive mechanisms, heat transfer mechanisms, fluid mechanics, measurements, and machine safety
・Cost management related to design and manufacturing operations
・Licensed Professional Engineer

Mechanical design engineer: 100kW wind turbine

Job Description As a person in charge of the mechanical and structural design of a 100kW vertical axis Magnus-type wind turbine, you will be responsible for the realization of the mechanical drawings based on conceptual design.

・Structural and housing design of wind turbine components
・Strength study of wind turbine components
・Planning, implementation, and evaluation of tests for wind turbine components
・Assembly and installation of prototype and mass production units
・Planning, implementation, and evaluation of tests in actual environment for prototypes and mass production units
・Creation of 3D CAD and 2D drawings
・Meetings with manufacturers, etc.

Job Description The candidate will be responsible for the overall design of micro wind turbines.

Power Systems Engineer

Job Description ・Promote overall development for system commercialization, including basic design and requirement definition of power generation systems tailored to the characteristics of our wind turbines
・Collaboration with electric power equipment and system development partners
・Define the procedures concerning the electrical construction work and collaborate with construction work management team and contractors
Required Skills ・Experience in product development of high power electrical equipment

Wind Turbine Control and PCS Development Engineer

Job Description ・Development of wind power generation systems (including collaboration with partners)
 ‐PCS basic design study, development and evaluation
 ‐Basic design, development and evaluation of wind turbine control system
・Various engineering work for commercialization
 ‐Evaluation test of developed products, identification of issues, and improvement of performance and quality
 ‐Survey of domestic and overseas standards, design and evaluation based on the suitable standards
・Collaboration with allied manufacturing partners
 ‐Survey of manufacturing partners both in Japan and overseas, promote alliance activities
 ‐Various technical discussions (especially standard related, grid connection, etc.)
Required Skills ・At least one of the experiences below is required.
 ‐Switching circuit technology (switching elements: FET, IGBT, SiC, etc.)
 ‐Grid connection technologies (grid connection protection, power factor correction, harmonic suppression, reverse power flow, power regeneration, etc.)
 ‐Electromagnetic noise countermeasures (EMC for large-capacity power equipment, snubber design, etc.)

Construction Management Engineer

Job Description ・Management of transport and delivery of wind turbine components (manage the lead time, delivery date, and transportation for mass production unit components).
・Establishment of wind turbine construction sites (The construction sites are expected to be scattered in Japan and overseas).
・Construction management of wind turbines (Management of cost, schedule, manpower, and risk related to wind turbine construction)
・Supervision of power plants necessary for the construction work may also be undertaken.
Required Skills <Wind turbine knowledge is not required.>
・Undergraduate or technical college degree in a science related field (architecture degree is a plus)
・Experience in project management at a general contractor related company
・Experience in site management of civil engineering construction projects
・Creation and understanding of design drawings civil engineering related projects
・Japanese business level or higher
Preferred Qualifications ・Civil engineering construction management engineer (1st or 2nd class) or licensed professional engineer.
・Communicate efficiently and smoothly with the work site manpower regardless of age, gender and professional relationship (overseas experience is a plus)
・Willing to travel abroad for business purpose (experience in negotiating with overseas construction companies, material transportation management, manpower management, risk management, material storage management, etc. is a plus).
・Experience in construction management of wind power generators
